Candidates For Election Must Register For 25-wards Model

Toronto Municipal Election Will Be Held On 22 October 2018 To Elect Toronto Mayor, City Councillors And School Board Trustees.

Today Court Of Appeal for Ontario reinstated Bill 5. Toronto Municipal Election 2018 will be processed on 25-wards to cut the Toronto council size. The nomination period will reopen for the offices of councillor and school board trustee on Thursday, September 20 and Friday, September 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Nominations will be accepted at the Election Services offices located at:
• Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W., first floor
• 89 Northline Rd

Certified candidates who wish to change wards or withdraw
all certified candidates for the offices of councillor and school board trustee who filed on or before July 27 under the 47-wards model and wish to continue to run in the municipal election, are required to submit a Change of Ward Notification form. These forms must be submitted in person (or by an agent) and have original signatures.

Certified candidates who do not notify the City Clerk of their intent to continue running before September 21 at 4:30 p.m will be deemed withdrawn and their name will not appear on the ballot.
